We are looking for an outgoing Manager of Public to oversee the development and management of its B2C PR strategy and media and blogger relations in the Dutch market. The Manager understands that media and blogger relations is an ever constant quest to generate more earned media visibility resulting in improved brand recognition and incremental traffic.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of B2C PR experience, preferably within the retail/e-commerce sector. We are looking for someone who is a super communicator with exceptional media relations skills. Experience planning and managing succesful national online and offline press campaigns across a rang of consumer verticals is a must.

Responsabilities

  • Focus on consumer press,long leads, broadcast media and the blogging community.
  • Develop and execute strategies and campaigns that communicate the consumer value proposition and reinforce the brand positioning.
  • Partner with and manage PR agency to drive B2C coverage focused on building up consumer brand in the Netherlands
  • Media relations–manage and proactively develop on-going relations with key members of the press, online editors and the blogosphere.
  • Strategic planning and development of press programme in the Netherlands and integration with online marketing and SEO goals.
  • Draft company press releases, media briefing guides, messaging documents; maintain and update important company data. Collaborate with the Country Manager teams to ensure brand standards are upheld on all marketing campaigns, collateral and communications.
  • Monitor brand health, consumer shopping trends and key consideration drivers. Use findings to

Required skills, experience and education

  • Fluent in speaking/writing/reading in English and Dutch
  • Undergraduate degree in marketing, advertising, communications/public relations or related field preferred. (5+years of B2C communications experience. Retail and/or ecommerce experience strongly preferred).
  • Experience working within a business that is largely B2C focused with a particular background in Media Relations: working with local and national media and bloggers
  • Writing/Design: Ability to write press releases, speeches, bylines and OpIEds.
  • Demonstrated success promoting B2C initiatives that have resulted in measurable lifts in brand awareness, consideration and intent.
  • Comfortable working with data to inform and maximize impact of PR activity.
  • An outgoing, articulate communicator who is comfortable selling the brand by picking up the phone
  • Proactively building new relationships and seamlessly working the room at events.
  • Strong organizational and multiItasking skills and ability to juggle multiple deadlines
  • Comfortable working independently and proIactively managing workload and goals without close supervision.
  • Understanding of SEO and how PR and earned media can support SEO activity, a bonus.
  • Experience managing a RFP process for agency selection and managing PR agencies.
  • Strong web research competence I able to find the right websites, journalists and facts that will have a big impact on a marketing campaign.
