Senior Accountmanager (Fulfilled)

In joining the experienced global communications team, you will work with some of the best marketing communications professionals in the technology sector. Their mission is to deliver outstanding discounts to our users and they believe the best way to do this is through having excellent relations with retailers. Your role will be right at the centre of this, managing and nurturing relations with key retailers and integrating our promotional offering into their online marketing plans. As part of this you’ll be responsible for securing the very best online discounts for our users.

Responsibilities & project work

  • Forge strong relations with large online retailers featured to ensure we are their preferred promotional partner;
  • Acting as the first point of contact for key advertisers and retailers, networks and agencies;
  • Negotiation of exclusive deals and partnerships with retailers and affiliate networks;
  • Attend regular meetings with your retail accounts including presentations;
  • Negotiation of strong commercial terms;
  • Analysing the performance of retailers discounts and feeding back results;
  • Attending and presenting at industry events and conferences;
  • Coaching and guidance of more junior members as the team grows;
  • Identifying new opportunities within your assigned retailers and networks, and then proactively targeting these opportunities;
  • Liaising with the Publishing Editor to coordinate seasonal promotions with retailers;
  • Liaising with the PR team to coordinate discounts for newspapers and other media partners;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years account management experience ideally within the online marketing space;
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large brands;
  • Proven track record of commercial negotiations within relationships managed;
  • Wider knowledge of online marketing and ecommerce is positive but not essential;
  • Confident, articulate ‘people person’ with excellent communication skills;
  • Self-motivated and pragmatic – Works well to targets and happy to take on responsibility for multiple deliverables and projects working independently and as part of a team;
  • Persuasive – able to convince retailers and networks to provide the very best deals;
  • Tenacious and resilient – overcomes setbacks quickly and identifies new approaches when required;
  • Comfortable presenting / speaking on phone etc.;
  • Good numeracy skills – Competent working with numbers and basic statistical data;
  • Super organised – able to multitask and thrives working towards targets and deadlines;
  • Commercially savvy, and someone who really understands what makes customers tick;
  • Loves the web and comfortable learning new interfaces and programmes.
